Thank you very much for your helpful response. I am happy the memorial is still in place. It moved me when I saw it in 2008. My grandfather Mazeika had lived in this region – Gruzdzai. (Cannot remember the spelling) Until 1911. He had 8 siblings. I remember seeing Mazeika on a student list at university in Sauilai. Thank you again.
